RUBIO, Dominic

Dominic Rubio was born in Paete, Laguna 1970. He does nature paintings, taking early inspiration from cartoons like Jungle book, Tarzan, and Fern Gully. He likes to capture moss-covered trees towering over hidden ponds, much like Balinese art, but in a freer, neo-manner. He has exhibited with the Paete Artist Group at UP Diliman and Galleria de las Islas. He won 2nd place at the Collier’s Encyclopedia Art Competition and was a finalist in the SNSAC and Metrobank competitions, 1990.
