Federico Gonazales was born in Sta. Cruz, Manila, and is best known for his realist works and murals. He served as an apprentice under great masters such as Cesar Buenaventura and Gabriel Custodio. He prefers to paint in a conservative and impressionist manner, common themes include landscapes and floral still-life. His first exhibit was in Manila Hotel in 1959 with the Mabini Artist Association where he was an active member. He has also conducted several shows abroad.
