SATO, Georjeff


Georjeff Sato was born in Cebu, 1960. In 1993, he was the Juror’s Choice as area winner for Cebu at the 1993 Automobile Association Philippines Art Competition and won his first award in 1976 bagging second prize at the spot poster contest sponsored by the Philippine Mental Health, Cebu. He took up a summer workshop in his native hometown under Julian Jumalon and apprenticed under Tony Alcoseba from 1977-1982. He then became a jewelry designer, designing for Hikkusen Jewelry and moved to Manila in 1986 doing reproductions of the work of Jan Van Eyck exhibiting at the Cristy Regi Gallery and Madrigal Center. Held his first solo exhibition at the Hyatt Regency’s Artista Art Gallery in 1997 and is best known for still-life works in a neo-renaissance genre.
