Leonardo Zablan was born in August 1934 in Manila. He studied Fine Arts in the University of Sto Tomas. He had a studio/gallery in Ermita and was a member of the Academy of Filipino Artists, the group of traditionalists in Philippine art. He played golf regularly at the Muni Gulf Links, and was close to fellow artist, Cesar Buenaventura.
